Marvin winery was established in 2005 on the territory of Hadzhi Dimitrovo, a village in the municipality of Yambol, situated 20 km away from Sliven in the “Valley of the Thracian Rulers”. Recent archaeological finds in the area are presenting more and more artifacts, illustrating the lives and livelihoods of ancient Thracians, who inhabited these lands. The location of the winery and vineyards, in a region with a rich historical heritage, benefits the development of cultural, historical and wine tourism. The philosophy of producing limited batches of wine, made with care and precision for connoisseurs and with a higher price range, is dictated by the longtime experience of the team that established the winery.
The winery produces red wines from the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, as well as rose from Cabernet Sauvignon. The white varieties include Aligote, Muscat Ottonel, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. The equipment is new and highly efficient and modern technology is used to produce high quality wines. “Marvin” is a boutique winery and produces no more than 8-10 thousand bottles of each type per year. The main brands of the company are Merendera, DeFacto, Marvin’s and Roseline.
The vineyards are in an ecologically clean area, where heavy industry and other pollutants are lacking. Most of the vineyards are 11 years old, with the remainder 7 years old. All 900 acres of vineyards are planted with quality planting material, imported from France.
The location of the vineyards and the wine cellar is very attractive. It is only 500 meters away from “Trakia” motorway (which connects the capital Sofia to the east coastal point – Bourgas) and only an hour away from checkpoint “Lessovo” (the Bulgarian -Turkish border). The next stage of development of the winery is the establishment of a luxury complex including a shop, restaurant and wine tasting room to promote our products and benefit wine tourism in general.
