Winery Orbelia is located at the foot of the Belasitsa Mountain, next to the village of Kolarovo, 12 km. west of Petrich. Orbelia is the ancient name of the mountain range and it means beautiful White Mountain.
The winery opened in 2013 and it has the most modern technologically and laboratory equipment. Some of the wines aged in French, Bulgarian, American and Hungarian oak barrels. The winery produces wine using traditional methods, specific for the region. It is also a small museum with typical for the region tradition and culture.
Sandanski-Petrich area is the sunniest and warmest region in Bulgaria and it has booth beautiful scenery and a rich history. This region has a long-standing tradition of excellence in viticulture. Since Thracian times in these lands have began cultivating some old local varieties such as Wide Melnik, which is widespread in the region today.
Their vineyards are planted on maroon, diluvial and alluvial soils, which provide excellent conditions for their development.
